Fort Stevens

On Sat we went to Longview WA to finish the kids school shopping-we then went about an hour and a half to Fort Stevens OR-it sit between Astoria and Seaside-it was really cool-first we went to the Shipwreck-a real one from the 1940’s the kids rolled up their pants and waded in-mind you it was only about 55 degrees- We then went over to the Battery were they fired off the big guns when Japan attack the coast in the 40’s-the kids had a great time and I am sure we will go back

We then arrived home and 5 minutes later had 5 hungry missionaries knocking down our door so I put then to work and threw together homemade pizzas-I made 3 cookie sheets full and only had one piece left over! It was a fun but exhausting day!

Strawberry Jam

Well one staple we always had in our house growing up was Mom’s freezer jam-Strawberry!! It’s soooo yummy that I have kept the tradtion in my house so looking at my freezer and knowintg we are getting low-Bella and I decided to make some today- So tell me what you think?

Great Day

Today was so filled I can’t wait for my head to hit my pillow-but first I wanted to fill all of you in our day. We went to Portland today for a baby check-up-the doctor of thrilled with my progress and how well the baby is doing. I have my big ultrasound in just 2 weeks the day before my B-day-its a great present to be able to know all is well with this little one. The baby is getting stronger by the day-I was sitting at the computer today and I felt something run across my belly-I’m thinking WHAT? then i was like “Oh yah” there’s a baby in there-

This afternoon after getting back we had the kids Open Houses for the new year-Jaxson’s in Mrs Elders class-kinda ironic with how involved our family is with the Missionaries- Bella’s in Ms. Krafts’s class she is one of the few Mormon teachers. We know her she was in out last ward and is a wonderful lady. It is so nice to have our kids in good hands. Although i must say when meeting with Bella’s teacher i told her if she needs help just call and she patted my stomach and said it’ looks like your hands are full when are you due? I told her Jan and her eyes got all big and she then said “Are you sure there’s only one in there?” Yes I know I look huge already but this is my 10th pregnancy my body just gets big fast! So for a moment I felt like Shamu…………

MCcormick Park

Well me and the kids went to our last playdate before school starts-we went and got McDonalds and had a picnic and then played with all our friends. i actually got to speak adult for a few minutes-They all had a great time-Roman wore himself out and fell asleep a few minutes after returning home-NICE!-It was only in the 60’s so we all had to break out the jackets and pants. The leaves are already changing here and they had fun playing in them-Made me all types of excited for fall!!!

Family Home Evening

Last night we had all 4 Elders over for dinner and FHE-At their request I made Navajo Tacos they were a big hit!!!  Right in the middle of dinner they all started to laugh and I was like what’s going on-Roman had dumped cheese under the table and was doing cheese angels on the floor-gotta love him! They all helped with clean up and even moved the table and vacuumed for me. We have been blessed with some really great boys!! They are all coming to spend Labor Day with us-should be a great day-

After FHE we had brownies and ice cream it was a great night and we a now one night away from finishing the pearl of great price-then as a family we will have read the Book of Mormon-D & C- and the Pearl of great Price-the Old Testament is next! i have to go meet with the Bishop tonight-I guess I shouldn’t have said how nice it was not to have a calling for awhile-

My Blessings…….

One of my Best Friends had one her blog her top 10 blessings and I thought it was a great idea-so here goes..

1-My Grant-a wonderful, loving and supportive hubby-who still loves me when I am as Heidi would say hormonal.

2-4 beautiful, healthy loving children-sure they make a mess but i love them anyway

3-The Gospel-I would be lost in this world without eternal marriage and the knowledge I have.

4-My Mom and my sisters-They have been there for me in good times and bad and even at times they may have not liked me they have always loved me.

5-My Dad and brothers

6-Modern Day medicine-if it weren’t for it I would have never survived 10 years old and would not have the life I have today.

7-Wonderful friends who love me regardless

8-A beautiful baby growing everyday inside me-doing well

9-For not being a pioneer-I know Heavenly Father took pity on me and sent me during a time with indoor plumbing

10-The Missionaires-even though I feel like they live here some weeks I am greatful to fill my time with them instead of missing my family

Use the force Roman! Use the Force!

Hi everybody! This is Roman and I am hijacking my Mom’s blog-I want to take this chance to tell you about my training to be a Jedi-i already have got the death grip down I just go cckkkk! and squeeze my hand and missionaires and brothers and sisters drop to the floor. I can color on any surface you name, walls. myself. beds. books get it near me and watch out. I also have my sweet face and hugs nobody can resist. Will I use my training for good or evil? nobody knows but I at least know I’m going to look cute doing it!I better go I hear moms footsteps………….

Your Guilty Pleasure?

So what is your guilty pleasure? Right now mine is Big Brother and dove Carmel’s…..yummy!!! Big Brother is like a train wreck that you just can’t look away from. As for the Carmel’s I figure with all the weight I am losing…my hubby calls me skinny every 2 seconds…ok how fat was I before?????-I figure i can eat Carmel’s if I want to -granted I have to hide them from the rest of the house or should I say Sophia?

On a unrelated note last night my dream sequence cont…… i really think this baby is a girl I keep dreaming of this little cutie and last night I had a dream that we were at the park and a woman came up and made a big deal about how big my family was and said” I bet you can’t tell me one thing about each child!” Of course i was ticked off-Watch out Hopie you haven’t ever seen me like this and I went around and named all my kids age and their likes and dislikes and when I got to the little girl I recognized her and said This is Ava she is my baby and told all about her so once again I really think this little munchkin is a GIRL!!!!!

Ohhhhh! You must be Mormon?

That was the response to Grant when he said that he had 4 children and one on the way-In LA people eyes always got really big when we told them the size of our family but up here we have been the norm- It just bothers me how some people are so judgemental of the size of your family-First off they are not paying for them-They are not taking care of them-So what’ business is it of theirs? Over the years I have gotten alot of gruff about having more children after Jaxson but I look at Sophia and Roman and think where would our family be without them? I think about this child growing inside me and I feel them kick up a storm everyday and I know they were ment to be a part of our family. I am so glad that Heavenly Father blessed me with knowing when I still had children needing to come to Earth and that I listened to his promptings- My road has been filled with many trials-as most of you know this will be my 5th child and I have had 5 miscarriages. But I would do it all again to have the family I have. I love my family and would be lost without them…………
